NEWS RELEASE: CAPITAL GOVERNANCE secures the highest-tier CSA Cyber Trust mark certification for its cybersecurity infrastructure

We are pleased to announce that on 26 December 2024, the FooKonTan LLP group (FKT) and Capital Governance (S) Pte Ltd (CG) received the Cybersecurity Certification – Cyber Trust mark (CTM) issued by the Cybersecurity Agency of Singapore. The CTM received by FKT and CG is that of a Cyber Trust certified Advocate, which is the highest tier (Tier 5) status for cyber security infrastructure by an organisation in Singapore.  The CTM is valid for 3 years.

The CTM – Certified Advocate certification is assessed across 22 domains encompassing governance, education, information asset protection, secure environment and resilience. The certification also maps to some 80% of the mandatory clauses for internationally-recognised cybersecurity standards under ISO/IEC 27001:2013 and ISO/IEC 27001:2022.

There were many drivers for FKT and CG to pursue this cybersecurity certification, a key one is that we must have the necessary IT infrastructure to qualify for government tenders in Singapore, which come with some of the most demanding cybersecurity protocols. By meeting this apex cybersecurity standard in the CTM – Certified Advocate certification, all our private sector clients are also beneficiaries of best-practice cybersecurity around the work that we deliver to our clients.

For our financial institution clients, particularly Capital Markets Services licensed fund management companies, the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has guided in its licensing guidelines that risk and compliance outsourcing arrangements are best conducted with professional services organisations which are members of professionally accredited bodies. A primary reason for such MAS guidance, is that professional services organisations which are regulated under a government agency, are required to invest in certified competencies, resources and secure IT infrastructure. Our CTM – Certified Advocate certification is yet another validation of CG’s institutional professional advisory practice for the financial services sector.

We thank all our clients for their continued trust in us and likewise, we will continually invest significantly in our capabilities and infrastructure to support our clients.
